POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest, as Beneficiary, is implementing, starting the 11th of May 2020 the project entitled: “POLITEHNICA Orizont Support Center – activities and expenses Export Component 12020”, acronym UPB4H, MySMIS 108792, according to the financing contract no.250 / 11.05.2020, agreed upon with the Ministry of Education and Research as Intermediary Organism (OI), in the name and for the Ministry of European Funds (MFE), as Management Authority (AM) for the Operational Program of Competitiveness (POC).
The project is financed from within POC, Main Axis 1 – Research, technological development and innovation (CDI), in support of economic competitiveness and business development, Action 1.1.3 – Synergy creation with CDI actions of the European Union frame program ORIZONT 2020 and other international CDI programs.
The general objective of the UPB4H project will be concentrated on enhancing scientific excellence in the fields of: bio-economy, communication informational technology, virtual space and security, environmental energy and climate change, eco-nanotechnologies, advanced materials and heath, and to support research activities at UPB level. So, through this project, creating a support center, as well as a unitary environment for creating International Development Research projects, with the role of increasing UPB participation level and project partnerships at European competitions.
Total value of the project is 3.009.295,53 lei, from which the total non-refundable value is 2.997.395,53 lei.
The duration of the project is 43 months and 21 days.
Most relevant results foreseen to be obtained from the project implementation are:
• Open / In preparation call matrix, updated every semester for each field of intelligent specialization;
• Practical guide for call presentations;
• Summarizing table of potential researchers and institutions with activities in the outlined field for realizing project proposals as partners and/or beneficiaries;
• Interest letters created and posted on relevant specialty sites;
• 20 workshop-like informing events, round tables, brokerage, organized at UPB level in order to attract foreign partners;
• 10 project applications at the Frame Program UE ORIZONT 2020, or other research programs from UE;
• A brochure with short descriptions of the proposed projects, during implementation or already finished, in which UPB is coordinator or partner, on different fields of activity.
